Praying in Treme (Prayer Walking)

In the summer of 2008, the Church shared in a great time of ministry and prayer, as a more than 1,000 people showed up in Central City to be a part of the CHANGING CENTRAL CITY FOREVER prayer-walking effort.
Over 80 churches were represented, and the weekly gatherings were a very good representation of the Body of Christ racially, denominationally and culturally.  Several pastors said, "This is what Heaven is going to look like."  Then at the March 2009 meeting of the GNO Pastors Coalition, Chief Warren Riley shared that the murder rate in New Orleans fell below 200 in 2008 for only the 3rd time in 36 years (praise Jesus!)     (more details about 2008)

In 2009, the Church will take to the streets in Treme for ministry and prayer.

We are meeting under the overpass at Claiborne and Orleans as the Church and then being sent out into the neighborhood.  To see some pictures, click here.

In response to our question at our March meeting, Chief Riley suggested that the Treme area would be an excellent place to have the Church show up and pray.

  • So in September on 3 consecutive Saturdays (September 12, 19, and 26), the Church will take to the streets in Treme.
  • We will meet at 10:00am each week under the overpass at Claiborne and Orleans as the Church and then be sent out in the Treme neighborhood for ministry and prayer.
  • We will return to Claiborne and Orleans to be dismissed around 12:00 noon.
